Different formatting tools are:

  • Alignment:  Adjusting the alignment of your text helps set image replacement or the text flow according to the page, tab, column or cell. Text alignment is also called text justification and there are four types of alignments: right, left, centre and justify.
  • Fonts:  segoe, geometric, monospace, Handwriting(Andy / Comic Sans / ITC Kristen / Lucida), cursive (Kuenstler/ monotype corsiva) , signature(Zapfino), calligraphic(brush), gothic (black letter)
  • Font style: Different font styles can be arranged for different paragraphs. It allows your text to be styled in italic, bold, underline
  • Font size: In typography, the point is the smallest unit of measure. This same unit is used to measure font sizes. These point sizes vary from 0.18 to 0.4 mm. The standard font size is 12 and there is no upper limit for font sizes in CSS at least.
  • Headings: Headings act as signposts that guide the readers through the articles. They indicate the context of the paragraph or the section. Headings help the reader to filter out the sections that they want to focus on or something in particular that they were looking for.
  • Title: The title is a very important part of an article. No matter what type of article one is writing, the title is supposed to be your selling point. It is the thing that will attract your reader in the first place. If the title of your article is not in context with the rest of the data, you will lose credibility in eyes of your reader, thus remember to spread a nice amount of time looking for the perfect title.
  • Watermark: It is a specific image or pattern which can be presented in different shades of lightness or darkness. Watermarks are encouraged in documents to prevent counterfeiting and encourage copyrighting. Images with watermarks can not be copied and used without giving proper credit to the owner of that image and the same goes for any text.
  • Text Wrapping: This feature is available for images. This allows you to wrap your text around the images in different ways. It can be done in front of the text, behind the text, in between two paragraphs (Break text) e.t.c. One has to decide which text wrapping give them the desired effect.
  • Indent: Indentation, also known as indent is a space applied to the beginning of the line, this indicates the start of a new paragraph or a sub-branch. A lot of computer languages have also adopted this technique to identify logical blocks or paragraphs in the program.
  • Page orientation: The pages in the word processor are rectangular and there are two ways of viewing them, horizontal and vertical. Thus page orientation helps us decide if we want the document to be in portrait or landscape.
  • Bullets and numbering: This feature helps us sort out the necessary information from a bulky paragraph. It makes the article easy to understand and more readable. Thus try to insert bullets to highlight any features, advantages and disadvantages.
