Astrology
Some people believe in Astrology, whereas science does not back some of its beliefs. But like many of our articles, this article is not for choosing sides but to define.
Astrology is the study of celestial objects such as alignments of stars and planets that affect each individual’s personality, environment and mood. It is based on the date of birth of individuals. According to their date of birth, people have their distinctive alignment of stars and planets, which is used to determine information about human affairs and terrestrial objects. It also includes forecasting Earthly and human events based on the positions of celestial bodies.
Astrology is believed to be the oldest field of science and it falls under the category of physics. It is supposed to date back to the 2nd millennium BC and it also has roots in the cylindrical systems used to predict seasonal changes. A lot of cultures and religions have huge respect for astrology and astronomical events are marked really important to them such as Hinduism and Chinese culture.
The oldest astrological system in the world, Western astrology dates back to 19th-17th century BC Mesopotamia. From Mesopotamia, western astrology spread to different parts of the world such as Ancient Greek, the Arabs, Rome and later on to Central and Western Europe. The contemporary western astrology system is usually studied with the help of horoscopes which pertains to the personality, past present and future of each individual. The majority of astrologers work on this system only. Devotees of astrology believe that studying the positions of celestial objects helps them to understand the influence of their positions in human affairs and through this, they can affect and predict the destiny of individuals or even nations.
Based on your date of birth, it provides you with information about future events, it defines your personality, character traits, and relationships with others during auspicious times of your life and even your profession. Gaining information about all these tempts human beings and they conceive astrology as a way to gain power over their life events. It is believed that people see what they want to see and people hear what they want to hear, thus astrologers more often use the way of flattery, defining someone’s personality including statements about their emotions, sensitivity, appearance, soul e.t.c., thus these statements can be regularly found in the columns of astrologists.
Popular astrologists are often trained in psychology too so that they can provide their visitors with the information that they want to hear. But there are a lot of positive arguments towards astrology too. It is considered true that people with similar astrological signs or sun signs share similar personality traits and some signs are more compatible with each other than other signs. Studies have shown that the moon’s gravity has effects on women’s menstrual cycles and thus can affect their emotions which may result in people having specific emotional states based on their time of birth due to the position of the Moon, the Sun and other celestial factors.
It is an individual choice to believe or not to believe in astrology and one cannot force it on another. Scientifically, there is no evidence that the position of any star could have an impact on your personality or life events but its results have been proven to be effective a lot of the time.
