Love of Literature
Literature is termed as the mirror of society. It provides one with insights into the real world. Literature has shaped many civilisations, it has changed political systems and exposed injustice. Literature allows us to connect to the basic emotions and desires of human beings.
Now, for most of us, our introduction to literature is done in school. Reading and writing have been mechanised into our brains from the beginning of examinations. Literature becomes a vessel for those who acquire the ability to sense the messages and themes behind those worldly paragraphs.
The beauty of literature lies in its interpretation, everyone doesn’t need to deduce the same meaning from the paragraphs, what may seem a heart-throbbing story for someone, maybe a heartwrenching one for someone else. After reading a piece of literature, each person has their own opinions, understandings and experiences, this is the power of literature, how it provides so much power to the reader, to their imagination. Loving literature is like creating your art, you derive your happiness, your inner strength and mental peace from it. There is nothing in this world that can bring you to salvation than those few hundred pages.
This connection is not established in a day or two, it takes years of devotion, patience and excitement to become a literature lover. But once you cross the threshold of viewing it as a task or chore and start seeing it as a piece of art, once the words written in the book start flowing in a musical paradise narrating the story, once you start feeling the adrenaline after reading a beautifully composed line, you realise that this is it, now you have made an unbreakable bond with literature. Now, all you want to do is dive into its world and give in all of yourself. A person who loves to read books is called a bibliophile or bookwork and the love of books is called bibliophilia Literature is also a form of art, a very intricate one, it requires the utmost level of detailing and composition. For instance, a sentence can be formed in several ways but when you find a composition where reading that sentence produce a smirk on your face, your eyes lit up and your heart skips a beat, now that sentence is a work of art, a supreme level of literature. There have been great authors, great writers and many literary figures in the world of literature whose contribution cannot be weighed on any measurement scale. These contributors may have had different genres for their writing but if something is common in all of them, then it is their love for literature, their appreciation of this art and their respect for their work.
